As a kid growing up in the 80s, I watched “The Facts of Life” and even got my first celebrity autographed photo from Lisa Whelchel. So when I got the opportunity to review “Hearts of Spring” that airs on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, June 11 at 5pm Eastern Time/Pacific Time and 4pm Central Time, I jumped at the chance.
Lisa Whelchel plays a single mom, Carly Ashby, who raises her daughter Sadie (Clancy Cauble – Lisa’s real life daughter), has a flower shop and blogs about parenting. Off the dating scene for years, Carly finally finds an attractive prospect in Dr. Andy Sommers (Michael Shanks), a pediatrician who just may be Mr. Right. But when she discovers that Andy is actually ‘Jugglingdad,’ an opinionated commenter/troll with radically different ideas about parenting who blows up her blog with his fiery comments, their fledgling relationship seems headed for the rocks.
I like the premise that Lisa’s character is a mommy blogger just like me. 🙂 I really enjoyed the movie and cried as well. I’m a sucker for romantic movies. Her character is very relatable and I know I’ll be in her same shoes when my daughter is a senior in high school (which is in four more years). If you enjoy romantic movies, watch Hearts of Spring on Saturday, June 11 at 5pm Eastern/Pacific Time and 4pm Central Time on the Hallmark Channel! 🙂 View the schedule and the Hallmark channel locator to help you find the channel and time in your area.
