Today is my first morning in months that I’m alone and feel relaxed after the morning rush of preparing the kids’ lunches and taking them to school. It’s nice to come back home and hear the slight humming of the dishwasher and arrive to a quiet house.
FIND SOME “ME TIME”
Right now is MY TIME. I can basically do anything that I want but instead I choose to take a tea break before working from home. The calmness of the home makes me feel more relaxed and more me. 🙂 That’s probably one of the reasons why I like working late at night.
I find it ironic that the people who need a break the most typically don’t give themselves any time for a break. They always tell themselves that I need to keep on going and do this for my kids, my boss, my dog, etc. They keep busy doing things for everyone but themselves. I myself am guilty of this.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
It’s easy to take care of everyone else and forget about yourself and your needs sometimes. This morning I’m telling all those parents, and everyone out there who are always taking care of everyone to look right back at the mirror and take care of yourself. Yes, I’m talking to you! As the flight attendants always tell you before a flight, “apply the respirator on yourself before administering it to your child.”
Take a 15 minute or even an hour break and make time for yourself because you deserve it!
